Stacey Solomon

Debut album ‘Shy’ out 20th April 2015

Stacey Solomon 'Shy' album Conehead are delighted to announce that the long-awaited debut album by Stacey Solomon ‘Shy’ will be released on 20 April. It has been six years since she burst onto the scene - and into the British public’s hearts - on 2009’s X Factor Series. Since then she has spent her time bringing up her young children, becoming one of the most recognised faces on British TV, famously winning I’m A Celebrity in 2010, and recently competing in The Jump. Stacey also voices a character in the UK version of ‘The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water’, which took an estimated $15.1 million on day of release across the US. As well as all that she has, of course, been concentrating on getting the music for the album just right. She said, “Making this album the best it can be has been hard work but so rewarding; I can’t wait for people to hear it. I’m so proud of it”. The first single from the album is also entitled ‘Shy’, was contributed by Rita Ora and will also be released on 20th April.

As well as Rita Ora, the 11-track album features a contribution from Lily Allen, but much of the material has been written by Stacey herself. Having been approached to record the ‘typical’ post X Factor album by the major labels, Stacey wanted rather to develop her skills as a writer and a singer further and create something more genuine - on her own terms - to truly reflect her personality and her true musical talent and artistic style. After all Stacey’s fans know just who she is, and so does she… Still only 25, Stacey has already enjoyed the kind of musical success that many dream of – her first appearances on the X Factor led her on to be part of a joint number one single and participate in an arena tour. Everything has been leading up to the release of ‘Shy’ however, and Stacey is truly excited. “I’ve had the opportunity to do some amazing things over the past few years, and I’m so grateful, but first and foremost I’m a singer. This album may have been a long time coming but I love it!”
